Photography inspired by poetry or prose.

I'm trying to find photographers or examples of photography inspired by poetry

or prose. Can anyone point me towards something like this?

I don't know of any. But I do know of advertisements so inspired. David Lynch did about three or four ads for Calvin Klein. Each had a voice-over reciting prose or poetry. Beautifully done (but of course - this is David Lynch we're talking about!):

I don't know of any inspired by poetry, but here's a splendid one that's written by a Zen Master and is inspired by the teachings and spirit of Zen - "Hearing With The Eye, Photographs from Point Lobos" by John Daido Loori.

I'm not sure whether Michael Kenna and Rolfe Horn were specifically influenced by Japanese poetry. Some of their projects certainly emphasize the culture. But their style of photography, which includes careful preparation and finishing of the prints, impresses me as a sort of visual haiku - spare, beautiful, evocative through minimalism.
