john falkenstine
An example: I do a search using the photo.net google tool for an item/topic within photo.net (After I'm signed in as a paying member). When I click on the results to explore the topic, I now find access to the topic or forum restricted because I'm not signed in! When I back up, I'm signed in again. This makes looking up older items and checking on the parties involved in topics virtually impossible. Its a bug photo.net has had for some time now. Any plans to fix it? emre
It is because Google also crawls photo.net, while you are logged on to www.photo.net. You can evade the problem by logging on to both.
john falkenstine
I just tried that recommendation and it does not appear to make any difference in the situation.
bobatkins
It should. It does for me. Make sure you are logged into both photo.net and www.photo.net. If you find a URL that seems to think you aren't logged in and it starts out "http://www.photo.net/directory/file" just stick a www. in there in front of photo.net like this "http://www.photo.net/directory/file" If all else fails, clean out your photo.net cookies and log in again. john falkenstine
cookies purged, everything srubbed, sign in to both parties, no change, same problem.
john falkenstine
The solution offered by Bob does work however; but I feel that this is a patch and some fixing is needed somewhere.
jacob_brown
I have a similar issue I just wrote about http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00Kfqj&unified_p=1 that occurs with www.photo.net access.
jacob_brown
I just went into [http://www.photo.net] and saw that I was not signed in. So I signed in. (It took me to a "www." to sign in.) Then I went back to [http://www.photo.net] and it AGAIN told me I was not signed in. Something needs to be fixed.
emre
Use www.photo.net exclusively and you will be fine.
