ShunCheung
Important: please keep your image under 1000 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. This forum's moderators are allowing up to three Nikon Wednesday images per week, so share some work! Today is one of those rare occasions that Matt Laur asked me to start the Nikon Wednesday thread. I can probably count in one hand the number of times Matt is not available on a Wednesday over the better part of a decade. The University of California, Santa Cruz Arboretum specializes in plants from the southern hemisphere. The purple Rose Coneflower (Isopogon formosus) is a native of south-western Australia. 2Oceans
There was a heat wave into the mid 20s so I could not wait to get out to photograph this homestead in North Dakota. I cant imagine living in this home in minus 70 weather. Once you spend some time with the wonderful folks from that state you understand how.
DavidTriplett
Heading NW out of Death Valley on CA-190, this vista suddenly appeared as we crested a pass. Mount Whitney (14,505 feet/4,421 m) is the peak on the far right. Nikon D810+Nikkor 200-500/5.6. Sadly, heat haze and atmospheric distortion of the midday conditions make this less engaging than I had hoped. Here's one from Zabriskie Point in Death Valley, the previous day. Not exactly my forte, but "what the heck" etc D800 with 24-70 f/2.8 @ 1/2000, f/2.8 ISO 100 Hi Tim, unlike Matt Laur, I didn't mean to start the thread with any theme. With Nikon Wednesday, two weekly image threads on the Nature Forum, Facebook, etc., it is hard for me to keep track of which images I have posted where. Therefore usually I try to use images I have captured within the last week so that at least they couldn't have been posted to previous Nikon Wednesdays. And I was at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum on this past Sunday to photograph hummingbirds. I was in Antarctica a month ago and of course took a lot of pictures. There is always some risk that I have posted that image earlier. Speaking of that, Bill Boyd's nice whistling duck image was posted to Nature Unlimited last week, but of course there is no rule against using the same image more than once on photo.net. I just try to avoid that myself. Nature Unlimited, March 22, 2019

Even when we have a theme, we don't always stick to it. In fact I'm one of the most guilty when it comes to that etc. It's more important that we share our work; again something I'm not all that great at... Tim, totally understand that was an off-hand comment. I am sure most of us are still learning and are trying to improve our photo skills. To me, it is important to go out and shoot more often to improve my photo opportunities.

DavidTriplett
Still discovering what my new Nikkor 200-500mm/5.6 can do. Here's a shot of the waxing gibbous moon, from 190 feet below seal level: Nikon D7100+Nikkor 200-500mm/5.6, heavily processed in LR5 to bring out the latent colors. Now I can't wait to see what it can do from 10,000 feet ABOVE sea level!
