  1. Important: please keep your image under 1000 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: This forum's moderators are allowing up to three images per week, so share some work!

Down here near DC, the much-talked-about nor'easter didn't deliver quite the snow punch some had predicted. Was more of a big pile of slush, really. But it did slow things down. The local construction project was idle (I hope that lumber's no worse for the soaking!) and the primroses may or may not pull through. We'll see! Hope everyone has a fine Nikon Wednesday, and shares some photos. Go!

  3. Here in Iowa we got our second major snowfall of the season, about 6" where I live. Enough for one Eastern Iowa resident to take her dog out for some sledding fun.

  13. Ski jumping in Lahti two weeks ago. I haven't been able to figure out what the lit horizontal line is. :) This is a heavy crop from D5, 300/4 PF, f/4, ISO 6400, 1/800s. jump1wed.jpg

Illka Nissila - I assume the lit green light is a marking to assist in deciding the lenght of the jump. There ought to be more lines in different colours. This is my guess, as I have not seen ski jumping for many years -:)
