Need help with unaurthorized use of work

Last week I got a message from another Photo.net user saying that he had seen

one of my photos published in a magazine. He said he saw it while at a Borders

Books.

 

I went to our local store and looked at all the magazines but did not see

anything that even looked close.

 

He could not recall the name but thought it could have been in a photo competition.

unauthorized Even!

John, can the person who told you about this not remember even a part of the name or what was on the front cover?

Pete, I have been emailing with him, but he did not see it when he went back the other day. If I get more info I post it. I went to our local Borders and did not realize the were so many magazines now. Just hoping someone might notice.

I love to quote myself stealing my own quote which is "We will make photography so cheap only the rich will shoot on film", Shay Browning that quote was manufacted from another quote which was "we will make electricity so cheap only the rich will burn candles." But, seriously all you can do is research and if it's true sue. But I like the photo except for the coloration that seem to be coming through on the bones and film, unless that's just my computer but still good stuff.

I moonlighted as a stand up commedian. They go through the same thing.. someone thought they heard someone telling your original joke. Odds are you'll never figure it out. The jokes sometimes were very similar. So maybe your photograph was similar or maybe the person who told you about this was just mistaken. Too bad he didn't get solid information before he upset you into a wild goose chase.
