Troll
Does anyone else enjoy this wonderful old Leica book from the 1930s? His inspiring text is accompanied by some 200 perfectly exposed, perfectly composed, beautifully printed, boring photographs. Still, I love this historical old book. Karim Ghantous
I do want to read it - I have heard of Paul Wolff before. I think that his negative collection was completely destroyed by fire. Anyway, is it available as a PDF somewhere?
bonsignore_ezio
Dr. Wolff worked both with large-format plate cameras as well as with the Leicas. The bomb attacks on Frankfurt in 1944 destroyed nearly the whole of his plates (which were the most important part of his photographic activities) but let the 35mm archive (some 500,000 negatives) intact. AFAIK this archive is still owned and maintained by his grand-nephew. A German-language pdf version of the Leica book is here: https://goparet864.firebaseapp.com/eub1050/b00i7i2ao6-meine-erfahrungen-mit-der-leica-ein-historischer-querschnitt-fast-10-jahren-leica-photographie-von-drpaul-wolff.pdf
Richard Williams
Did you check that link? It's a dubious looking PDF with text like a spam email and no photos, with embedded links you are invited to click on. I didn't.
