It's gimmicky and used in advertising, some people are doing B&W portraits and coloured eyes which I find creepy. It's here to stay I guess, but not a favourite. brucecahn Posted July 21, 2007 Share Posted July 21, 2007 "Selective color " is not a debate. Unless you have achieved a degree of mastery it is a big mistake, a way to ruin a B&W picture. I have looked at many thousands of pictures on this site and have seen only a few selective color pictures which are not cheap and tasteless. In most cases it is a display of bad taste.
