My contribution to the "selective colour" debate

Recommended Posts

Photoshop tutorials are predictiable and every one I've seen shows this technique. It's

gimmicky and used in advertising, some people are doing B&W portraits and coloured eyes

which I find creepy. It's here to stay I guess, but not a favourite.

As for the book.......I wouldn't queue for it!

"Selective color " is not a debate. Unless you have achieved a degree of mastery it is a big mistake, a way to ruin a B&W picture. I have looked at many thousands of pictures on this site and have seen only a few selective color pictures which are not cheap and tasteless. In most cases it is a display of bad taste.
