peter_k4
I've just been starting to play with NX2. I absolutely love it for it's CA correction, and it's in-camera simulation. but I find it's highlight recovery to be terrible. It appears to just put a blob of burning over top of all the bright spots.

Anyways. is there a way I can get the benefits of NX2 processing but still use lightroom to recover the highlights? If I save a tiff from NX2 and try and pull the highlights from that it doesn't work, as expected, because it's not the RAW file, and if I pull the highlights in lightroom and then save a tiff then I don't get the benefits from NX2, correct?

a push in the right direction would be appreciated.

-Pete
dan_meyers1
Couldn't you duplicate the RAW, run both NX and LR adjustments and combine the two tiffs?
gary payne
Because NX2 uses "nondistructive" processes in RAW, and all changes made in an "edit list", RAW files imported into another editor will not include the changes. However, saving as a TIF or a JPEG will allow you to move into another editor with the NX edits included.
Hector Javkin
Peter,

Please don't be offended but, if you have just started to play with NX2, is it possible that you're saving the tiffs in 8-bit mode?
