m_stephens
I just got my old Minolta HiMatic 7s out for some use. I never noticed before that the lens sort of "rattles" a bit. It is not absolutely tight against the body. Is this typical? I just don't remember it being this way before, but it has been a while.
ridinhome
Just checked my 7s and the lens wobbles a little bit but not much. Is the wobble from the lens or the focussing ring / aperture and shutter rings? There's more play from those which can be confused with a lens wobble.
maciek_stankiewicz
Yes, it's quite common behavior and I think it don't affect lens' performance.
m_stephens
Pretty much the whole lens as a unit wobbles a bit right at the body. I'm not going to worry about it since others notice a similar thing.
zeitguy
Checked my 7 and its rock solid. Some of my other same-era rangefinders do have a bit of play, but the Himatic, and the Ansco Autoset, its cousin, are tight. Is it the lens, or something internal?
