milbourn
On Friday I went to an exhibition by Mark Power the UK Magnum Photographer. I found his work quite interesting. It has quite a hauntng quality it is difficult to define. A lot of his work comes from longterm projects he has organised himself using frameworks such as the SHipping Forecast and the edges of the London A to Z maps. There are some interesting pictures and articles about his thinking on his website. http://www.markpower.co.uk/
jtk
Brilliant stuff...thank you! Power's obviously a fine writer (his essays) as well as photographer.. Magnum photographers usually do write well because they're journalists, by definition... The opening piece, "Destroying the Laboratory for the Sake of the Experiment" is *doubly strong* because of the photographer's collaboration with the poet, Cockrill, who reads parallel to the slides. Great idea. In this case I think the poet sees more than the photographer...
