mark_satola1
Having a devil of a time finding lens caps for my Mamiya C330 80mm lens, the older chrome variety. Generic snap caps don't seem to come in the right size (I'm guessing 46mm), and actual Mamiya figure-8 caps are not coming to light. Anyone know of a good source? Alternatively, is there an aftermarket company savvy (or crazy) enough to crank out a bunch of these for capless camera geeks like me?
stephen_kruft
All the Mamiya caps are hard to find and I don't know a particular source - but many camera stores have bins of small accessories like this and may be able to find what you need. Some of their lenses did use 46mm thread.
james gibbons
The 80mm chrome lens on my C2 has a 40.5mm thread for which I use generic snap caps. http://www.btinternet.com/~g.a.patterson/mfaq/m_faq-contents.html will have the exact answer though... skipd
I have a whole C-33 with 80mm and 135mm lenses WITH caps that's available. Porro finder too.

joseph_albert
Rear caps are the hardest issue if you need them. if you can't find a regular mamiya front cap, one solution is to attach a skylight filter to the viewing lens and leave it there, and then use a snap-on cap for the taking lens. You may need to file down the rim of the skylight filter a little if the snap-on cap hits it. Mamiya USA was still selling rear caps for the larger size lenses like the 180/4.5 Super as recently as 6 years ago, but they may all be gone now. They also were selling body caps/plates. jeffpolaski
I didn't do this with a Mamiya, rather with a FED I with a Jupiter 50 collapsible lens. I didn't even dream I could find factory cap for it, so I experimented with medicine bottle plastic caps until I found one that fit perfectly. Stop in at your local pharmacy. Jochen_S
The guy running the FED1 Zorki1 survival page describes how to make paper machhee caps. If you are rather handy you could try making some out of fiberglass.
