keith_tapscott
I used my Mamiya 7 II today outdoors in sunny conditions and the `LT` keeps blinking in the viewfinder despite bright lighting conditions. The battery is fresh and the red warning light isn`t blinking, so the battery power seems to be OK. This was with `AEL` selected. When I tried the manual mode, it shows the selected shutter speeds, but doesn`t indicate if the right one is selected for correct exposure. The `LT` keeps blinking though. The Camera has worked fine up until now, any ideas what the problem is?
russ_britt3
I will ask a stupid question, what does the LT mean. Is it a error code or is it a over /under exposure code? I went to the Mamiya site it said nothing about it.
jim_momary
On the Mamiya 6 ... 'LT' illuminated means an exposure has been selected from 1 to 4 seconds, i.e. 'long time'.. If it is blinking, it means underexposure and the person should turn the aperture ring until the 'LT' stops blinking, i.e. increasing exposure. That's made mention in the 6 manual. I'm not in tune with the 7 at all, maybe it's similar? Good luck. Jim M.
Giovanni Cappai
Is it the same with all the lenses you have? If not try to clean the contacts of the lens and/or the camera. I had a similar problem with a used 43 and the cause was a broken circuit on the lens. My other lenses worked fine.
randy_larson
I had a similar problem when I bought a used 7II and a used lens. I tried a second body with no success. Ended up being a problem with the lens. After putting a different lens on I have had no issues.
keith_tapscott
I only have the 80mm lens which I keep permanantly attached. The Camera was working perfectly last weekend when I last used it before today. The `LT` shouldn`t be flashing in the lighting conditions that I photographed in. I have tried removing the lens and cleaning the contacts and removing and replacing the battery, but the problems still persist. I haven`t a clue why this is happening and sending it for repair will probably be costly. I did buy the Camera used and a broken circuit in the lens or Camera is worrying and I am wondering why is has suddenly malfunctioned.
ben_pater
Keith Detach the lens and clean the contacts on the body and the lens. If this failes, the lens needs a CLA. I had this problem two times with my 65mm Ben
keith_tapscott
Ben, Randy, thanks for that. At least the problem has been known to other Mamiya 7 users. I have removed the lens and cleaned the contacts as mentioned in my previous post, but still not working. Does anyone know of a good repairer in the UK? rob_hale1
Ben, What did you use to clean the contacts with ? and did the cleaning help with the 65 mm lens ? also did the CLA cure the problem or did the 65 mm lens require repair ? Best Regards Rob.
mark liddell
I think I read somewhere that a pencil eraser does a decent job of cleaning the contacts. You can also buy thing to clean electrical contacts from hardware shops.
