mike grossman
I am curious about how professional photographers, such as portraitphotographers, generally generate prints for customers. For those whoshoot digital, do you generate your own prints using an inkjet? Or, doyou send the file to an online lab, such as mpix.com? What about those shooting medium format film? Do most photographersdevelop and print their own or do have a lab handle this aspect? Thanks for any responses...
kevin_hundsnurscher
I shoot medium format. For black and whites, I develop the film, make a high-res scan, down-size it to the print size and then have it printed by a lab on either an Agfa or Frontier machine, depending on which lab is more convenient.<br><br> For color, the process is the same but I have a lab develop the film. derrick_morin___fallon__ne
I shoot portrait and wedding work with a 20D and 10D, and print my own stuff with an Epson SP 4000. I like the results, as do my clients. I enjoy controlling the entire process myself rather than relying on a lab or online printhouse (although many produce very good prints). gaius1
I expect many high-end shooters will be using <a href="http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Software/Portrait.aspx">Portrait One</a>.
