Lightroom 1.3 automatically starting with memory insertion

  1. How do I stop Lightroom 1.3 from automatically starting every time I insert a
card into a USB memory reader? I usually have a card in the reader, so LR is
starting up every time I resume from standby mode which is pretty annoying.

Auto Import is not turned on, as far as I know.

  2. go into your Lightroom Preferences menu and uncheck the first option under the menu tab -
the "Show import dialog when memory is detected" option, and the restart the program.
  3. A related issue with Lightroom: I don't recall the exact name of the program (Adobe Photo Downloader or so?) but it was very persistant. Couldn't get it away by unchecking option(s) in Lightroom. I had to use Ccleaner to stop it from automatically starting with Windows XP. With every update of Lightroom it keeps coming back.
  4. If changing the Lightroom Preferences doesn't do it, click on the "Adobe Photo Downloader" icon in the task bar and disable it. Or, go into the System Configuration Utility > Start Up tab and uncheck "apdproxy".
