Is NYIP a good school?

I took the professional course from NYIP and finished it last year. As an amateur (I am a seni-retired attorney) wanting to improve my photography, I thought it was a very good bargain. I found the tapes to be useful and the review by the instructors to be helpful. I thought the price was reasonable. The course took me two years, but I was practicing full time much of that two years. Certainly my photography improved greatly. I am certain it is not the equivalent of a full time school which you personally attend. Of course a full time school, college level, would take longer and would probably be more complete, but I am quite happy and have recommended it to people in a position similar to mine.

Just a similar question.

I, too, have been looking at their offer, and what one is claimed to benifit from taking their course. I agree that the price of roughly $900 is a lot less expensive than a traditional school where one must attend classes, and I like the taking it at my own pace aspect...but I am curious as to whether or not I would be better off getting a grant (I am a single parent, and at age 32 this is a big decision...) and going back to school?
