How to Hang Frameless Pictures Mounted on Acrylic

Recommended Posts

I have several large frameless images mounted on rigid white Styrene boards that are 2mm thick. The back of the mount is smooth, with no provision for hanging.

How do people normally hang these mounts on the wall? What is the "professional" way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Swiss clips are the best answer. They are specifically made for hanging unframed prints.

You can see how they attach here: http://www.dickblick.com/products/swiss-clips/?wmcp=yahoo&wmcid=SiteSubmitProducts&wmckw=Swiss+Clips

I think you are referring to Sintra, because foamcore is thicker than 2 mm. Go to a frame store and get the saw-tooth adhesive hangers usually used on foamcore (not the metal ones). These have an adhesive section and a hanger above. I would use two if your photos are large because Sintra is heavy.

OK - Mission accomplished! I checked out every one of you sugggestions and ended up using a combination of Double sided foam tape (3M Heavy Duty) on ring hooks. The Swiss clips are pretty; hwvr, I preferred nothing showing on the sides.

William, Sintra seems to be much more costly than Styrene, but the two do look similar. I wonder what the differences are.

Thank you all.
