rodney_braddock1
I have a friend who has just started a jewelry company and is looking for several shots of his jewelry to iniitally go on a pamplet to pass out then eventually I will take more to be placed on a website. I'm very new to shoot "non-humans" so I have no idea what to charge, etc. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards!
art_haykin
Jewelry can be very challenging, especially cut stones and polished surfaces. Are you certain you can cut it?
aaron l
Your equipment is going to be specialized to shoot this sort of thing. Look at how much it would cost you to rent every piece of equipment in your local area that you'll be using to do the shoot. That's your cost. Then add 20% on top of that just to break even with your time for the equipment. You will be stunned how much this costs you. Don't think it doesn't. I did a shoot as a trade for a florist friend and I looked at my equipment cost + margin and it was $500 just to show up. And that's making nothing per hour. Then look at your dollars per hour. Read this article and it will open your eyes: http://photobusinessforum.blogspot.com/2007/03/i-appreciate-what-i-earn.html
