gurbally_seth
Can any user tell me how 35mm 1.4 performs on full-frame Alpha 900?
Photozone shows that it is just mediocre on Alpha 700. Does it do well on FF?
I am interested in buying this lens and 135mm 1.8 to go with Alpha 850/800.
ricardovaste
How good is it? It's an excellent lens, try searching the photo.net archives or looking at the reviews and sample photo at dyxum.com. If you're looking for edge to edge resolution and detail, look elsewhere, as I suspect that is what you may mean be 'how good it is'.
wayne_naughton
It's a superb lens, i'm very happy with mine. it seems to get a right royal baking all over the net so if you're susceptible to other people's opinions, it might be a good idea if you can try it for yourself before you buy.
theaudiodoc
I've seen some of those reviews, better to go by what people that own this lens say. The rap is that it may be soft wide open. Most of the time you will not be using this lens in that manner anyway. Here's another review and the reviewer only questions whether it would be worth the price for some one that is not a pro, but it seems to be a overall favorable review. BTW tested on both the A700 and aA900. Hope it helps a bit:
http://kurtmunger.com/sony_35mm_f_1_4_gid271.html
Robin Smith

Most of the time you will not be using this lens in that manner anyway

To me that is the point of having a fast lens, otherwise why not pick a cheaper version? I think that this lens is very overpriced - costing more than the Canon 35f1.4L - and it looks like it is without the performance to match. Why not spend your money on the excellent Zeiss 24-70mm?
Robin Smith
