jena_berlin
I received my first Polaroid camera (a 600 type) about a year ago since then i have used film from impossible project. I recently purchased a Polaroid sx-70 on eBay and I was wondering if i could test it using an old film cartridge (that still has charge) from my 600 before buying a full cartridge of sx-70 film. Any input or answers would be fantastic, thank you!
glen_h
What kind of test did you want to do?

I believe the batteries are the same. There should be some notch on the film cartridge to stop from using it in the wrong camera. If you can find that, you might get it in.

If you put the black sheet that covers the film when you buy it back into a cartridge, the camera might eject it. That would be one test.

It would take more than that to test focus and exposure indications.
-- glen
jena_berlin
Thank you Glen, sorry for not being specific but i just wanted to be able to test the motor. I will probably use the darkslide in the cartridge method if the cartridge will fit to test the motor before buying film to test everything else.
ken_jeanette1
Check your local cam shops, they may have some way outdated SX70 film laying around that you can have for a song. The battery should be good even if out of date. Exposure may not look great, but you get to test functions over a couple of iterations.
