Help! With Magic Lantern

<p>I tried to install Magic Lantern (2.12) on my 5D2, now the camera is bricked. I am headed out of the

country tomorrow evening so I need to unbrick my camera ASAP, any help would be appreciated.

<p>As far as I know, Magic Lantern is just a boot loader that resides on your memory card.</p>

<p>Remove your card and format it on a PC, then try your camera again.</p>

<p>I have tried that to no avail. When I turn the camera on, even the red light that indicates that the camera is reading the CF card does not illuminate.</p>

<p>Take out both batteries for half an hour and re-insert. Then switch on the camera without a CF card installed. If that doesn't work then it's goosed.</p>

<p>Did you set your flash card as a boot device for your camera before installing ML on it?<br>

My understanding of Magic Lantern: (installed on my 50D)<br>

Any card used for ML must have been prepared as a boot device prior to copying the ML files to it.<br>

After ML has been installed, format ML cards using the camera to avoid removing the ML files from the card.</p>

<p>Another possible cause of your problem could be a corrupt magic.cfg file found in the SETTINGS directory on your ML card.</p>

<p>That plus using the Battery Grip when trying to power up again worked. Major disaster averted.</p>

<p>I'm curious what firmware version you are using on your 5D2, and if that might be the source of the initial problem you had. My understanding is that ML is very sensitive to the FW version, and it may not be updated to reflect the most recent 5D2 FW?</p>
