dave_g1
Watched a documentary about the Marx brothers (Unknown Marx Brothers) and they had this photo of Harpo holding a camera. It looks like a sort of Leica - but does anybody know which model? What lens? And look at that flash!

paul_wheatland
either a black lacquer Leica Model II or a III from early 1930's with possibly a Leitz Summar f2 50mm lens. Black nickel Leicas from that era are in my opinion rather handsome and great images makers producing that "Leica Glow".
john_wiegerink1
Those models didn't have flash sync built into the camera. I believe they used a contact mounted on the shutter speed dial that made contact with a post when the shutter speed dial rotated. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was called Blitz Kontact or something like it. I have a IIIa that has been converted to sync with the PC connector on top. Harpo's camera looks to be a conversion since I see what looks to be a cord going up near his right index finger. Probably a III or IIIa? Of course I could be wrong.
