chris_uhlig
Hi all. I just purchased one of the seemingly rare "HAMA Shift S" macro bellows for using it with my digital camera as a semi view camera. But alas, it doesn't come with any adapters. Does anyone know how the camera and lens adapters look like (I don't expect anyone actually having one for sale - that would be too much luck to ask for)? I am thinking of having a set custom machined (to fit a Nikon camera, Nikon lenses, 39mm enlarger lenses, and screwmount/T2 lenses).Any help?Cheers,Chris
jimstrutz
I've never seen one, but it sounds like an interesting product, Chris. Most third party bellows I have seen use either a Pentax/Practica (42x1mm) screw thread or a T mount (42x0.75mm) thread. Can I assume from your comments that it has neither? Does it have threads at all? Can you measure them?

larrydressler
Why do I feel like I just was talking to customer service for my cell phone?
chris_uhlig
Jim - yup, the HAMA macro bellows is pretty awesome compared to most other bellows. If you are familiar with large format monorails - the HAMA looks just like a miniaturized Horseman. One of these units went a few weeks ago on ebay for 850$; see this link (has some pics too to give you an idea how the thing looks like): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7519311566 . The HAMA is identical in every way to the Spiratone SST; but both haven't been seen in stores since the mid 80's. You are correct, that the mount is pretty much non-standard. The size of the opening is matching Nikon lensmounts (sans electrical contacts and protruding pins) fairly close. The bellows uses two screws on perpendicular sides to tighten the adapters on two sides, and a lug/flange on a third side. There is no thread. Kawal from OMAX - I might take you up on your proposal. Do you have these adapter sets in stock or do you custom machine them? Larry - well, this time I don't mind the sales pitch (from OMAX) if it actually helps me (and guess what - I did talk to customer service for my cell phone that very day, which went unexpectely well aside from being put on hold for half an eternity). larrydressler
Cheers Chris And BTW what ever happened to Spirotone? I loved thier Catalog in the 70's I ordered a preset 400mm lens from them in T-mount. I used it for high school football games and local Rodeos. Sorry I kept this post on hold. LOL
warren_kato
I think what you need is a "T" flange adapter -- which is the female part of a T mount bellows and goes on the front of the bellows. You therefore might look around for an old no-name bellows for the mount in the front. Nikon should be easy to find.
guido_sardella
I recently got one from e-bay, the smaller version, with tilt/shift only on the front standart, not the mini-view camera version. In any case, the bellows has a screw-mount of 46mm diameter, quite larger than T2 or M42x1. I have no adapter, I am looking for one male to male 46-42 reverse ring and one 46-42 step down ring to adapt to common PentaxK-M42 adapters.
