neil_parker
FYI: I have noticed more and more server errors recently on photo.net. Thisjust started a couple of weeks ago or so. Often it happens when I hitmy 'back' button. But I also get it when clicking on a linkto a forum thread. If I refresh the page it usually loads the propercontent Example:>HTTP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error Content-Type: text/html;charset=iso-8859-1 MIME-Version: 1.0 Date: Tue, 23 Jul 2002 23:40:51GMT Server: NaviServer/2.0 AOLserver/3.3.1+ad13 Content-Length: 547Connection: closeServer ErrorThe requested URL cannot be accessed due to a system error on this server. >AOLserver/3.3.1+ad13 on http://www.photo.net I am on Mac OS9.1, Netscape 6.2.
hkbmac
It has been happening to me too. I figured it was my connection, but it happens at work too. Using pc with IE and Netscape.
steve_dunn2
<p>It's definitely at photo.net - the message comes from one of their servers, and I get it at home or at work, with IE or with Netscape. It's pretty much random; hitting the reload button usually fixes it.</p>
mottershead
I'm not officially back at work yet. I got the satellite dish on my new house last night; but I don't have email yet. When I'm back on the job, I'll add some logging code to the servers to try to get a handle on this Server Error issue. I'm getting them too, but I wouldn't say that it is very frequent; a few per day, and generally I'm on and off the site all day long. Thanks for the reports. cedarc
Just saying, me too. I'm too quick to hit reload so I haven't copied the message, but that one looks like it.

cub
As a system and network administrator, I can may be help you, that problem is due to the file system on the AOL server, it always arrive when too much files are open at the same time, in order to fix the problem, you will have to allow more files to be open at one time, on linux it is in the /proc/ directory, I have no idea on AOL server... good luck
