june_daley
Hi everyone,
Just curious if any of use a website to post password protected galleries for your clients to choose their photos from. I currently use photo bucket, but only the paid pro version offers this feature. Any ideas?
Thank you :)
bobatkins
I'd say that if you have paying clients, using a "free" website is going to make your whole operation look cheap and amateurish.
rascal64
http://www.bigblackbag.com offers a client proof page with their websites. It is currently unavailable with their beta sites but they will eventually change that.
june_daley
thanks for the feedback. My current website includes a proffing section option, for $100, which I would prefer to use except that it also comes with a shopping basket option which I do NOT want my customers using (I am not professional and only offer images on disc, not prints yet)
I really just want a password protected gallery, no shopping basket option. Anyone know of a site?

Thanks :)
hondo2
I would recommend your own personal website. Many web-hosting companies offer gallery type applications which you can password protect. Two applications that come to mind are Coppermine and ZenPhoto . Although, if you explore this route, choose a web-host that uses Fantastico or Simple Script to install these applications.

This is not an endorsement, but the following companies are known to have reasonable pricing and offer the applications mentioned above.

www.hostmonster.com

www.godaddy.com

www.webhostingbuzz.com

Maybe , if I can clear some time in my schedule, I can set up both applications so you can check them out; although, I can't make any promises. If I am able, I will post to this thread with the web address, username, and password for a gallery.
photic
Thanks for the tips. I realized I could set up Coppermine in my host's Fantastico Panel (I use a company called HostGator, which is really inexpensive). 10 minutes later and I have a /proofs/ folder at the end of my domain for clients to view :)
