Forum sorting - why the variety?

Just curious - why does the Leica forum have a useful sorting feature

and the Classic forum doesn't? Meaning, the Leica page is split into

Newest, Discussion, For Sale, No Words and then the category listing.

Can this template be applied to the Classics forum too?

The Classic Cameras forum hasn't been around long enough to become properly disorganized by dozens of baffling categories that nobody uses and which can't be searched specifically by Google.

 

I've pretty much given up recategorizing posts to the b&w forums. With few exceptions, whatever the thread initiator chooses, that's how it stays. Fewer categories means fewer opportunities to miscategorize threads.

 

It's like a library where the librarian is drunk or plays video games all day and just waves his arm with annoyance when you ask about checking out a book. "Yeh, yeh, whatever, do what you want, I'm almost to the next level in Rogue Squadron here..."

It's the "newest" category that's needed IMO. Older threads being reactivated can produce some interesting comments...
