harold_gough
Hello,
The size looks to be about 25mm but experience in measuring sizes shows that I don't alawys get it quite right. Extensive internet searches have failed to find this. Does anyone know the size? I am hoping to obtain a hood to fit.
JDMvW
Get a nice digital caliper for a couple of bucks and measure it.

I was sort of under the impression that people used series filters at the time.
Robin Smith
Does it actually need a hood? Isn't it a >1:1 lens? I'm not sure it was designed to use one.
Robin Smith
harold_gough
Thanks, Folks.
The lens is best at 3:1 to 10:1, at the former the working distance is about 55mm. This gives more options for positioning lighting than many other lenses for this magnification range. I can make something up using a clip but it would be good to have a proper filter or a filter ring to work from. (I have some matt black flock material, as use inside telescopes. A rigid lens would offer protection, the front glass being very exposed.
Yes, series VIII features with Leitz Wetlar Elmarit lenses. However, my 60mm macro takes standard 55mm and the 90mm takes standard 57mm, so the series may not be so special.
