jlynn
I'm new to photographing sports, but am travelling with a team to Raid the North in Vernon next week. I want to photograph teams as they do the various sports throughout the race,(kayak, hiking, repelling etc..) but am unsure which film will give me the best quality of photos. I need a film that I can use in all light conditions, but relatively fast, and the smallest grain possible (lowest iso, but still fast enough for the lighting conditions throughout the day). Any recommendations? I'm using a Canon Rebel Ti, with a standard lens, and an 80mm-300mm telephoto lens.
aardvarko
how fast are your lenses?
Jerry_
Take ISO 1600; ISO 800; ISO 400; and ISO 200 film. British Columbia has changing weather: no way to predict sunshine or rain, or cloudy bright in the Pacific Northwest.
catchlight
Fuji NPH 400 would be excellent for stopping action in bright sun. Having a few rolls of Fuji NPZ 800 would be handy if you encountered clouds or rain. Despite their high speed, both deliver fine grain. NPH renders colours very naturally, including skin tones. Here's a review of NPH: http://www.shutterbug.net/test_reports/1102sb_fuji/
