Film Camera Week for November 10

Recommended Posts

Time to get going on our weekly thread. As many photos as you like from your film camera. I'll start with some shots that I took this week with my Minolta XE-5 and 50mm f1.7 lens. Film on these was Ilford FP4+

With Winter settling in here in the Puget Sound, it is nice to review some of the market shots taken during the last few months. Here is one that was on a long delayed roll of XP-2, finally developed & scanned. I am now counting days until the "Jump" into Hawaii's warmth & tropical sunshine giving me that golden light & endless supplies of tropical fruits for my "scurvy" ! I've had a busy week, but I found a couple of hours to try out an early Sigma compact zoom I saved from a fate worse than death in the hands of a neighbour. It's a 70-210mm Sigma UC Zoom f/4-5.6 of somewhat undistinguished appearance, but I mounted it on a Nikon FE and was pleasantly surprised by the results. The film was Ilford FP4 Plus, developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 using Silverfast SE software. All being well, I may have a few more to post later in the weekend.

Great beginning, everyone. Rick- that Sigma zoom was extremely compact. It was also sold dressed as ProSpec by J.C. Penney. My wife has one in ProSpec trim in Canon FD mount. Nice performing zoom. It's main competition was the Tamron Adaptall II 70-210 f4-5.6. I think Vivitar and Kalimar also offered something similar. I think Cosina also made one and sold it under various names. At the family camera shop we even had a few in Minolta trim. Lots cheaper than the well regarded 70-210 f4, but slower and probably not as sharp.

Mike, I really like your winter scene. It gives the effect of what winter is truly like. I live in Florida now but if I ever get the nostalgic winter wonderland urge to move back up north I only have to look at your photo to remember what winter is really like - cold wet and miserable. I can already feel the snow falling down the back of my neck.
