Film Camera Week for March 22

Discussion in 'Classic Manual Cameras' started by Mike Gammill, Mar 21, 2019.

  1. Greetings all and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start from a roll of Pan F+ that I developed and scanned earlier in the week.
    Church courtyard, Nikon FE2 with Tamron 35-70 f 3.5
    area near street, Same gear
The wide range of shutter speeds on the FE2 make available light photos easy
    waiting for coffee
    optical illusion, same gear
late afternoon sun near street, same gear
Utility company (building was first a Post Office and then Police Headquarters before becoming utility building)
Last one for now. I like signs so here's one from a place I like to dine.
    Good food, same gear, cropped
I look forward to seeing everyone's images.

  16. Midweek (wed) cabin fever sets in & I jump on The Bus & head over to the next town (Kailua) for lunch & a long walk-about with a camera. I grew up in Kailua, so it is always interesting to see, and photograph, the changes. This week the Isolette 3 was in the backpack. UFX400, Pyrocat HDC & V600 scans. 17. It seems a little slow on the thread; where are all our regular contributors? I'll post four frames from a roll of Ilford FP4 Plus I shot yesterday with a Minolta XG-M and the 35-70mm Minolta MD f/3.5 lens. This lens seems have become a reference point by which similar short zooms are judged, and I have to agree that it deserves it slightly iconic status. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 using Silverfast SE software.

  18. Nice images, Rick. I got my first Minolta 35-70 in the early 80's as part of a package that also included a Minolta 200X dedicated flash. At the time wider range zooms were either very expensive or just mediocre performers.
  19. The thread does seem a bit slow as Rick said so I'll add a few more, these from another well-regarded 35-70, the Tamron Adaptall.
    looking up, Pan F+
trees near railroad track, same film
    outside Bdubs, late afternoon
Like the Minolta 35-70, the Tamron is also low in distortion. Generally speaking it's fairly easy to make a good performing lens in that range. I'm thinking of adding an Olympus 35-70 to my "stable" at some time.
