Film Camera Week for August 11

Discussion in 'Classic Manual Cameras' started by Mike Gammill, Aug 10, 2017.

  1. Our new weekly thread begins now. As many images as you like from your film camera. I'll start with some from my first roll of stand-developed film. Rolliepan 25 in 1:100 Rodinal for 1 hour.
    Classic Pentax 50mm f2 on modern ZX-5

The ZX-5's autofocus has failed so just using it with my "A" series Pentax glass.

Fortunately, the focus confirmation system still works
This film does well with long exposure, although I don't know its reciprocity characteristics

  11. Nice pictures everyone. I am taking a break from for a while so I will see you all later on. I am currently trying to trim internet time in favor of a more active lifestyle.

  14. First my Yashica TL Electro X with a Soligar 90-200 mm lens and Tmax 400. Switched to L110. Also read that solutions can accumulate particulate matter so I filtered it at least through a paper towel occasionally. Of course on test Water tower ala JDM yashica 90-200mm tmax4008-7.jpg

  15. Prakticxa MTL3 Soligar 100-200mm. Gold 400 film @ $2.50 a roll. A lot of wisdom in what JDM said abvout buyiny whatever film was available at lowest cost. Note one killer tree prakticamlx e.jpg prakticamlx a.jpg prakticamlx b.jpg prakticamlx a.jpg prakticamlx f.jpg prakticamlx .jpg
  16. A new consignment of the Bergger Pancro 400 arrived a couple of days ago, 14 days from California to New Zealand at a freight cost of $22.50 via FIMS, a service and cost I consider to be quite acceptable. Having done a little more tidying-up on the Agfa Billy Compur I featured in last weeks thread, including freeing up the spring-loaded cover over the frame number window on the rear of the camera, I loaded up a roll of the Pancro 400 and took a walk around town on a very bright and sunny morning. The Solinar lens on the camera is very sharp and distortion-free, though lacking the contrast we expect from our more modern film cameras, but it performs very well for a lens constructed around 75 years ago. Overall, I was pleased by the results, and I'll post half a dozen samples.

  17. Hello everyone. A small shipment of the Panchro400 has also landed on my doorstep. What is your asa setting & development time Rick? I presume PMK of course ! Bill
  18. Bill, I'm still experimenting a little, but 200 ISO seems to be safe with the PMK Pyro, certainly no slower. Development : 75oF, 1-2 per 100 dilution, 2 gentle inversions per minute on the minute, 13 minutes. Treat this only as a starting point, obviously. I'm looking forward to seeing how you go with it, especially since we use similarly ancient cameras!
  19. A few around Blue's Bayou Cafe on Anglers Marina with the Pentacon 6 TL, PanF+ in Pyro HD and Tripod. The haze from the wildfires in Central BC have reached us on the Island for the last 2-3 weeks and is evident in the photos.

    With the CZJ Biometar 80/2.8.

    With the same lens.

    With the CZJ Sonsar 180/2.8.

  20. A very tidy copy of the Konica SII rangefinder camera turned up last week. I've had a working but rather battered example for some years, and I'm pleased to lay hands on a respectable one. I shot a test film this afternoon, and was delighted to find that the iconic 48mm Hexanon f/2 lens is right up to scratch. The film was Kentmere 100 developed in PMK Pyro.
