diana
I took some pictures at Wrigley Field recently. You're welcome to view them here:
http://pages.prodigy.net/chicagocubs/
The game was sold out, so I had to pretty much make due with the seat I had, which was behind the home plate net.
Hopefully my pictures tell an interesting story for the viewers.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
D.

eric friedemann
As a Chicago area native, I can tell you the Cubs should have let Goofy pitch the whole game.
paul_french1
great shots - I'm going in a couple weeks...what gear did you take in with you and did they give you any trouble about it? thanks, paul
diana
They didn't like the monopod but they let me in with it. I'd like to get a cane handle for it so I get less hassle about it. After the game, my hubby overheard security tell someone else that something he had shouldn't have gotton thru. I don't know if they meant the camera or the monopod. What do you do if the venue won't permit your equipment in the door? Wrigley doesn't have much parking (at all) so we had to take the train there. It's not like we even had the option of placing it in the car trunk to give thieves something to work on.
scott_eaton
I can tell you the Cubs should have let Goofy pitch the whole game.
I hear George Steinbrenner already offered him 4.5mil a year to play with the Yankees, along with Bam-Bam from the Flinstones. andrew_limiti
I went to Yankee stadium earlier this year, and their policy bans "large cameras" and definitely tripods. I took my Canon T70 with the 35-105 zoom and a tele extender, and got some strange looks from the ticket taker but I got in. Leaving it in the car in the Bronx is not an option. diana
Why is there a ban at Yankee stadium on "big cameras" ? What exactly is a "big camera" ? I imagine something large format, like a 4x5 or 8 x 10 camera. :)
andrew_limiti
I think it is more like a "No big glass" restriction.
paul_mchenry
I took in a great deal of equipment including my EOS 3 with power booster and a couple of relatively large lenses to an Oakland A's game at Network Associates Coliseum with no problem at all. The security guard who checked my bag simply commented that I was "well prepared." On the other hand, the security at Dodger Stadium is much more anal about what can be brought into the stadium. It would appear that it depends on the venue, as the A's go out of the way to make their park fan-friendly while the Dodgers were so tight during the Murdoch regime that the ballboys were told they were not to toss fouls that came their way to fans in the stands. If someone tries to tell you it's MLB policy what can and can't be allowed in, they are lying.
Greg M
The Cubs and Texas Rangers have the same policy- a bag of a certain size is let in, and the size is big enough I was able to take in my Digital Rebel+ grip, 17-40L and 70-200 f4L. I was in Chicago in July for 4 games. Every baseball fan should go there.
