stephen_persky
Hello, I just got all my slides back from Yosemite. We are very happy with many of teh shots. Here is the first shot that I have scanned/processed thus far. It is one of my favorite. Taken with a Leica R9 28-90 vario lens with polarizer on a tripod with Veliva 50. Pros: The timing was just right and I got the sun just as it peaked above the trees. I like the flare in this situation. Cons: huge light dynamic range made the exposure hard without a ND grad filter. Regards, Steve<div></div>
stephen_persky
Here is the image when a dark slide and a light slide is merged using Fred Miranda DRI plugin. It darkended the sky and lightened the grass. I like it alot better. Regards Steve<div></div>

stephen_persky
Eric, Actually, I don't mind at all. I was trying to figure out how I could get rid of it just so I could compare. I think I will try to use the stamper tool and see how the final prints compare. Thanks Steve

david_s4
Stephen and Peter, you may benefit from trying a digital (rather than darkroom) contrast mask. Luminous Landscape describes the technique (<a href="http://luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/understanding-series/u-contrast-masking.shtml">recent</a> and <a href="http://luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/contrast_masking.shtml">earlier</a> versions). socke
Dominic, I was probably 10 minutes late. I'll try again tomorrow to catch the setting sun. It should be left of the building in the background.
