Coolscan 5000ED/SF-210 -- scan misses 1-2 mm along one edge

The actual 24x36mm image on the slide does not get scanned in full. Approximately, 1-2 mm-wide area is missing (cropped out) along one of the shorter edge, and there is a corresponding 1-2 mm area area along on the opposite edge that is black. It appears that the slide does not advance "all the way is should" so the scanner misses the edge of it or there is a misalignment between the 5000 ED and SF-210 or else...?<br>

Any suggestion re a fix?</p>

<p>Go in to your software and set it so that you can manually set the crop settings.</p>

<p>No crop used. Silverfast scan borders (red rectangle border) is at the maximum area allowed.</p>

<p>You might try scanning with the MA-21 slide holder instead of the SF-210 auto feeder to see if the problem is the feeder or the scanner. Good luck.</p>

I had the same problem. You should try to take some sheet of paper under the sf-210. The scanner will then take the slides in a different angle and the problem should be solved. Hope this helps.
