ni_gentry
I've never had a card failure yet (knock on wood), but want to be prepared just in case.
I have a version of Rescue Pro that came with Sandisk memory cards I bought a while ago. Will this work with all cards or just Sandisk cards? Does the card reader make a difference?
Also would be interested in any other suggestions for CF card recovery software. I'm on a Mac. rob_sronce
I like PhotoRescue. I have used it a few times, on my own cards and on others cards and it always works brilliantly!
JeffOwen
All card types, even hard drives (not recommended due to long time searching). They will even recover formatted CFs.
rodney_gehman
Well, I just had some images turn up missing today. I had deleted them off of a card by accident, and they were wedding pictures of utmost importance. I ran my RescuePRO Deluxe software, and was in contact with someone from the company for the better part of the day. Long story short, it recovered only thumbnails of my images, which is all but useless. It also said that a lot of the files were unreadable. I downloaded Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery software just as a last resort (it was a Google search) and it was only $40, which is better than being sued for losing pictures. It recovered all of the images I wanted at full resolution as well as the thumbs. Only 1 or 2 images were actually damaged. I'm on a PowerMac G5. j.1
There are a few programms in the net that seem to be freeware. But attention! I spent quite some time scanning a 4GB CF-Card that I had formatted by accicent. Both EASEUS and CardRecovery found the files (takes about 25min) - but the when you want to save the files to disc the both of these programms (that were ment to be free) promt you to purchase the full license! They are useless - time lost and very annoying.. then I found ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery) it?s the only programm thats really for free - and works superb.. rsriram
ZAR is not free. Where did you find it for free? A single user license for ZAR is US$49.95.
