Best free Photoshop tutorials for portrait work?

Discussion in 'Education' started by virginia_hager, Oct 25, 2011.

  1. Hi all,
Hoping to get your assistance please. I'm interested in learning about all of the popular Photoshop touch-up techniques for digital photography, especially those centered around portrait photography. I already have basic-intermediate Photoshop skills but want to refresh and build upon my knowledge.
Can anyone please recommend free tutorials/courses available online that will assist me? There just seem to be so many out there and I'm sure half of them are useless, so am hoping that others might already
    know of some good ones?
    Thanks for your help,
    Virginia.

  3. If you really want top notch tutorials, on everything, not just portraiture, I would seriously suggest using Lynda.com. You have to pay for it but I use it all the time to learn new things about the software I am using. The photoshop tutorials on there are priceless, and they are very organized so you can find exactly what you need to learn. Its basically like a full digital photography education, for way cheaper.
If you really dont have it in your budget then you are right, it is hit and miss online with the tutorials. Some people are just plain bad, and some really know what they are talking about. This one is on Lunacore goes over the very basics of facial retouching. http://www.lunacore.com/photoshop/tutorials/tut020.htm
