tyler_cordaro
I just bought a RZ67 Pro|| body and now im looking to pick up a lens. I read that the lens are aprox half the mm of a normal 35mm lens. Also aprox how much do they go for and where is a good place to find them used. Thanks for your help
ellis_vener_photography
Actually it is about 2x ( twice) the focal length of a lens with a comparable angle of view on a 24x36mm ( standard 35mm) camera.
Ed_Ingold
A "normal" lens for an RZ is something in the range of 90 to 110 mm. There are a lot of Mamiya lenses and accessories at http://www.keh.com. You might do better on your own pricewise, but KEH is a reliable vendor with consistent equipment ratings. JDMvW
I believe it is possible to find adapters (see an earlier thread and follow up leads there: http://www.photo.net/medium-format-photography-forum/00AHZ5 ) for Pentacon 6 mount (P6) lenses for many medium format cameras. If it is possible, there are many East German (Zeiss Jena) and Soviet copies of similar lenses made in this mount or other medium format mounts (see the Kievaholics site http://www.kievaholic.com/mediumformat.html ). Some of these are very superior lenses despite their socialist production background. The Zeiss Jena 180mm Sonnar f/2.8 is just a superb lens, even when mounted on a crop-body dSLR. (see http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/00Pqzu). The 80mm and 120mm Biotars are not much worse.
JDMvW
Biometar, that's BioMEtar, not Biotar. Sorry

markbristol
It depends on what you intend to shoot. Portraits: 180mm to 250mm. Landscape 50, 65, 90 ect. If you are thinking about landscape go for the best lenses made for the RZ. I shoot with the 50mm ULD, 65mm LA, 110mm W, 140mm L, and the apo's in the longer lengths. The sharpness of these lenses is truly amazing. I have made enlargements 30x40 inches with amazing detail. As mentioned above KEH is reputable and very careful purchases on ebay is another source. You can find most of these lenses for much less than pro caliber Canon or Nikon lenses for 35mm size cameras. At one time or another I have owned every lens made for the RZ line except the 210mm apo. If you need any help drop me a line. Mark.
bill_dewberry
My favorite RZ lens was the 140 Macro LA, you can do anything and everything with that 1 lens.
ondebanks
The other reason why JDM's suggestion won't work is that the RB & RZ bodies have much longer lens registration distances than the lenses he mentions. So you can't get anywhere near infinity focus without machining off the rear of the lens. It's not a problem with the various focal-plane shuttered, short registration distance 645 SLRs however (Mamiya, Pentax, Contax).
