joseph_dickerson
Hi All, Anyone out there have experience with the 80mm f/2.8 versus the 80mm f/4 macro Mamiya lenses? I'm actually using them on an EOS digital camera with a tilt/shift adapter mostly for landscape/architecture. So either f/2.8 or f/4 is workable, just interested in the sharpest lens at f/8 to f/11. Surprisingly, I'm finding that there isn't all that much difference in the used prices and the macro feature is intriguing. Thanks in advance, JD
neil_grant
..they are both double-gauss 6 element lenses. It's likely that the condition of the lens in question will determine which is 'the best'. I notice that none of my M 645 lenses focus all that close (0.7m for 80mm lens) - and the extension tubes are quite fiddly. The 80 'macro' goes nice 'n' close using the helicoid which is very handy - but maybe not very important to your photography.
