markus_biedermann
Hi! I am looking for a 24 WA lens. Are there qualitiy alternatives to the Leica one? The prive is just too much for me at the moment. thx
al_kaplan1
Voigtlander makes a 25mm lens, but with scale focussing only, no rangefinder coupling. It comes with a finder. Both Canon and Nikkor 25's were made in the 1950's and early '60's, but often carry "collector sized" price tags, and you're still stuck locating a finder. Cameraquest carries adapters to fit various brands of SLR lenses on your Leica, but you still have that finder problem.

Sanford
How about a Nikon FM3a with a 24mm Nikkor. About $800.00 and no one will ever be able to tell the difference.
ronald_wills
Markus, I think Tamron offers a compact 24mm f2.5 lens with an adaptall mount for reflex leicas at a reasonable cost.
roland_schmid
Markus - the Sigma 2.8/24mm is a very good lens, sharper than the current Elmarit-R. It was (is?) made also with Leica R mount.
Robin Smith
I don't think Sigma make any lenses for the R mount anymore. I think Leica prevented them from doing so many years ago. I suspect your best bet is to look at Tamron Adaptall lenses as they do have an R adaptall mount. I had a Tamron 28mm f2.5 lens once and it was pretty good I have to say, although contrasty rather than with high resolution. Robin Smith
