caryn_davis
Do any of you PC users out there know where and how to downlaod Epson paper profiles? From what I have been discovering is that Epson makes them for the Mac but not the PC. (I was guided to the computer darkroom in the UK where I downlaoded some Epson profiles for my 1270. I put the profiles in in the system 32/spool/drivers/color folder as instructed but they are not functional and are not available to me in the print spcae profile pull down menu, as they should be where I can access for example, Legion Paper's profiles.) So my question is two fold. Where else can I get these paper profiles, AND how do I amke the ones I have functional??? Help. This issue is driving me bats! ellis_vener_photography
The profiles should be useful in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements 2.0, no matter what the operating system.
caryn_davis
Thank you for your reply. They SHOULD be useful, but they are not. Any idea then how to make them functional. As I mentioned theya re not appearing as an option so I must be doing something wrong.
keith_laban
Hi Caryn<p> Once the profiles are in the system32/spool/drivers/color folder, try right clicking on them and you should get a dropdown menu. Click on install driver and they then should be available to you in the print space profile box. Went through this problem myself a while back.<p>I got my profiles from the Epson Aussie site, lots of useful stuff on there. Get back to me if you still have a problem. Good luck
tony_terlecki
What file extension do the files have? Have you restarted Photoshop (I'm assuming you are using PS) since copying the files into the folder? PS only reads the directory to build a profile list on startup. paul_wilson2
Go to www.leppphoto.com. There are custom profiles and instructions on how to install them.
paul utkin
For printer profiles this software appears to ba a best bang per buck, IMHO: http://www.ddisoftware.com/prism/ It really works well, and, that is much more important, I am able to understand why does it work well. You simply scan both the original target and your target that you printed out yourself on your own paper - so, it does not relay on 'well-calibrated' scanner that you DO NOT HAVE and that is required by many other professional-graded calibration programs. So, you do calibrate not just the paper - but your device as a combination of paper, 3-rd party incs, printing head, etc., etc.
derek_simpson
Ian Lyons has some available - I find his 1270 profiles better for my 1290 than the Epson ones. Search Ian Lyons - you'll get more info than you think you need - but then you'll want more .
