per_vangkilde
Dear Group, I´m quite new to both my F5 and the SB-26.I would like to try making portrait photos with 2 Prolinca studio flashes, borrowed from a friend. I do not own a flash meter. Guess I will use the SB-26 as "trigger" only (mounted in the hot- shoe). (the Prolicas can bed trigged as slaves - no cable needed). Shall i set the SB-26 to "TTL" or? As I do not have access to a flash meter - shall I put the F5 to "auto" exposure mode? (will use Sigma 28-70 and 70-300 zooms). regards Per
ellis_vener_photography
Without a flash meter you are going to have to do some testing to find out exactly what your f-stop should be forthat specific set up in that specific room.<P>The camera and the flash should be set to all manual settings. hal_bissinger
I would strongly suggest you acquire a flash meter otherwise you will have to guess as to what aperture to set. No, you cannot use TTL or any other auto mode with studio flashes. The camera metering will be useless for all but te ambient light. Put everything (flash and F5)in manual. With two strobes and a flash, without a flash meter, all I can say is good luck.
