mike_halliwell
Just a check really....:D AFAIK, it's not possible to record the screen 'view' internally. It needs to go to an external recorder via HDMI. Is that right?
rodeo_joe1
What do you need to do with the screen shots Mike? They're not capturable (is that even a word?) directly in the camera - to the best of my knowledge. So a laptop, HDMI or AV connector and use of the Prnt Scrn button would be needed in real time. IIRC some software can recreate the camera screen display from the image EXIF data. If you just want illustrations for teaching purposes, PowerPoint slides or the like. mike_halliwell
If you just want illustrations for teaching purposes, PowerPoint slides or the like. Spot on! I've got make a virtual clone of myself for some non face-2-face practical teaching....:D AFAIK, HDMI out to an external monitor is a screen copy. Must look into that, as it were. CvhKaar
Snapbridge ==> laptop ==> HDMI cable connect to a monitor ?
mike_halliwell
I did a bit more Googling and now realise how common it is to do this. But, AFAIK, no camera maker has it as an internal feature. Bizarre. An Atmos Ninja 5 is >£500...! and they don't record in anything low enough, like MOV or MP4. I might even resort to bolting my Nikon J5 to the back of my Z6ii. That's just crazy. Late Edit.... I've got an AverMedia 2 HDMI game recorder. I might try that....:)
rodeo_joe1
I might even resort to bolting my Nikon J5 to the back of my Z6ii. That's just crazy. Not such a crazy idea. I've taken phone-camera shots of the rear LCD of a DSLR as a quick'n'dirty way of showing the settings or histogram. They were good enough to demonstrate a point. IIRC I wrapped a tube of black paper between screen and phone to prevent reflections killing the contrast.
