I upload to Dropbox or Google Drive from the iPhone, which makes the files available for download from nearly any device. I generate a read-only Dropbox link which I can send to others. You can also send iPhone video (and photos) by Airdrop to another Apple device.

There are two format options in an iPhone settings: Most Compact (HEVC or H.265) and Most Compatible (XAVC or H.264). Only the latter is compatible with Premiere Pro. There are conversion programs if needed. I use Movavi Converter, which is fast and very flexible. I handle a lot of iPhone video from musicians, so a good paid program is worthwhile.

The cable that came with my newish Android phone didn't fit the USB ports on my Laptop. I could have shopped around for a different cable, but I started to use a pair of Android/PC apps that allow me to connect them via my Wifi. It was a trial version but I found it so convenient, that I bought it. The PC app allows me to wirelessly transfer photos, music, documents, etc from my phone to my PC, delete unwanted files on my phone, etc

Move the iPhone videos or stills to the Photo folder. From the Photo folder you can move or send selected files to Dropbox, Google Drive, Vimeo, or via a message or email (depending on attachment size limits). I suspect that Android phones are comfortable with Google Drive, and other cloud services. If you have a Mac computer, the Photo directories will automatically synchronize, and you can address any or all of its contents with your file explorer.

Once in the Cloud, you can send a link by message or email without running into size limits. The links are very small, comparable to text files.

I once had the problem of deleting a photo from my phone permanently. I panicked because it was an important image and I didn't know what to do. I found this blog How to recover the photos you deleted from your iPhone, and I tried to recover my photo from iCloud. I'm the worst when it comes to phones and computers, but somehow I managed to get back the photo. There are more solutions on the website, so if the iCloud one doesn't work for you, you could try the rest. Edited by arnoldcloony
