morrisbagnall
Morris, do you consider this image an abstract? Hadn't really considered it. It is pretty close to how it came out of the camera, I cropped to square and tweaked the colours with a touch more saturation to get them to stand out a little more. When I was taking it I was thinking about the year ahead (it was taken late December 2020) and I thought about how unclear the future was. Then the more I looked at it the more it asked more questions, ones I didn't want to consider as my mental health was in decline at that point. I should have just taken a snapshot :D

michaellinder
AHHHH! Just realised where I posted this and my other one- oops! Sorry guys! Morris, actually the shot of the escalators has several abstract elements. It's well composed and the furrows in the revolving stairs provide implied texture..

I liked that symmetry. It was shot on Tri-X 400.

However, a relative gifted me with a Canon FTb and, if I can find film that's not overly expensive, I'm going to give it a try.

Lovely camera, a really good friend I would suggest :) Film prices do seem high I'm afraid and developing too though I suppose in relation to what we were paying in the 70's and 80's it's probably not that bad. I thoroughly recommend having fun with it, take your time and leave the digital at home when you go out. I have a habit of taking both and believe it or not I forget that the film camera I use doesn't autofocus  I am more inclined to remember to focus if I only have the film camera with me. Of course, that could just be me. :D
