FS: Zeiss Super Ikonata 532/16 f/2.8 Coated Tessar

Selling my Super Ikonta. This one has served me well, but I never use it so figured it was time to pass it on. This is a 6x6 format folding rangefinder, and one of the most desireable of the Super Ikonta range.

This one has an 80mm f/2.8 Zeiss Opton Tessar with T single coating on a Compur-Rapid shutter. The lens is in good shape, with good coating and no haze, fungus, or other issues.

The rangefinder has decent contrast and is accurate. The biggest issue is that there is a loose metal disk-not sure what it is or where it came from-that rolls around and occasionally obscures the viewfinder. A small shake will move it out of the way.

Camera pops open smartly when the button is pressed. The bellows are light tight.

The leather has a few rubs, but overall the camera presents extremely well both open and closed with bright/clean metalwork and smooth operation.

I have shot a half dozen rolls in this camera and it hasn't missed a beat.

$230 inc. shipping in the US. At this time, I am not willing to ship internationally.

Thanks Andy!

Got brave and pulled it.

Now I can safely say that the floating disk is NO LONGER there and I gave the optics a good dusting so it's nice and clear now. This one is a great grab and go camera-I'm actually reconsidering now whether to sell it, so if anyone is considering, speak now or I'll probably yank the listing in a couple of days!

If the disc is just shy of a half inch in dia and has holes in it, it's part of the camera. I have a parts 532/16 with a loose disc like that and I've taped it to the camera waiting for the time when I can get back to removing the top again and fit the disc. I'm not sure now where it goes but I know it was under the top cover somewhere, it was just through negligence that I didn't fit it the first time I was fiddling with the camera. From memory, it seemed to be an unimportant part, what it's for, and where it goes, but definitely inside the top cover and probably associated with the rangefinder.

Mine had two of them that were sort of glued to the top of the viewfinder between the top plate and the top of the viewfinder tube. One was still attached. I used a tiny blob of RTV silicone, since original adhesive looked like a long-petrified "gummy" adhesive.
