jc1305us
Captured this during Hurricane Sandy. Shot from the Hoboken, NJ waterfront, Manhattan in the background. The tug boat, operated by Don Jon Marine was heading North up the Hudson. Boy did I feel for that pilot! Shot on my Nikon d3000 or 5100, don't remember which, 50-200mm lens, October, 2012. paddler4
A really striking capture. If it were mine, I'd boost contrast selectively. It looks washed out, which makes sense given that it was in a rainstorm, but it might be more effective if the contrast were increased. Also, there seems to be some perspective distortion: some verticals are vertical and some horizontals are level, but some aren't.
dcstep
Looks like the tug is OOF to me. Maybe shutter speed was too low. Either way, the background is sharper than the subject and the foreground. Kind of ruins it for me.
