What do you guys think of this one?

As with so many of my photos, I really like this one, and I love this guy! Of course, not all of my shots garner accolades from others. This was shot at a local drag strip I've been hanging out at a bit this past summer. There's close to zero security & absolutely no safety protocols for audience members, if that's what you'd call em (!!); it's completely acceptable to walk right up to the starting line and hang out! Thought I'd post this here to see what everyone t thinks of it. Thanks in advance.

What I find most compelling about this image is its implicit dynamism. My only feedback is to consider burning the background; this may slightly improve the image's punch. Also, I wonder how the image would look in monochrome.

I like it too, but I'd fade the background and edit out a few things (more carefully, of course, than in this Q&D version)

It'stoo bad, but not fatal, that the front of the car is cut off. but then again maybe not....

I like the composition as is and don't see it as over-exposed. I especially like the guy at the left edge of the frame. It gives the photo spontaneity and an extra bit of narrative. The guy taking the photo, though, which becomes the essence of the photo, puts it into another world. Too obvious. It makes a photo with potential, the energy of the smoke, the color of the car, the greens in the background, just another candidate for instagram, IMO.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Shooting in this sort of environment is tough, not only because of the noise but also with all the ancillary elementst, eg people, & just stuff. Also, not that it's too crowded at this particular drag strip but a lot of times it gets crowded down close to the action in terms of people such as this guy and not to mention other photographers. BUT again, this stuff is LOUD! Even with ear plugs in it's still just crazy. I think the best solution for this level of devastating noise is ear plugs AND ear protection/sound deadening muffs. My point is that sometimes it can be hard to concentrate under such extremes.

Thanks Sam, to me it does become more about the guy, than about the car. This particular starting line is indeed cluttered with stuff, so all of my shots here include more things in them than I might prefer- although I generally accept that about the location and occasionally am able to crop a bit to exclude them.
