I have the XD-11 and use the Auto 320x on it all the time. I do have the sync cord but it's not needed.

Yayks that's great! Could you tell me how does the flash works on M and auto modes? I read the manual a lot of times but I don't seem to understand it.. It's confusing. Thanks! :))

The flash has a 3 aperture choices auto mode. I guess you're not familiar with auto flashes before TTL. These flashes offer flash exposure automation by having a sensor built in to the flash and offer a choice of a number of aperture for a given ISO. Some simple one only has 1 aperture choice. Some even has 11 choices. The Auto 320x has 3.

1. You set the dial to the ISO of your film.

2. Switch the auto switch to one of the range color red, yellow or green.

3. There will be a led that lights up and indicate the aperture you must set on your lens.

4. When the flash ready light is on the camera is on the camera shutter speed switches to the X sync speed regardless of the modes or shutter speed you set.

The flash head swivel and tilt to allow it to bounce when mounted on the camera. However it can only swivel 90 degrees left or right so you can't bounce of something behind you. In this case you can use the special sync cord that came with it. You remove the sensor from the flash and attache it to the end of the sync cord which will be attached to the hot shoe. The other end plugged into the flash. So now you can point the flash in any direction and the sensor still pointing ahead and give you correct exposure.

I actually use the Auto 320x a lot with my DSLR. It works fine and also in auto.
