Post Processing Challenge January 18, 2020

Recommended Posts

There are no rules as to how you apply your post processing to this image; but, please let us know what you have done so we can all learn.

If you would like to post a candidate image next week, please ensure it is of sufficiently high resolution for manipulation by the participants (3000px on the long side, 300dpi for example).

Most of all, let's have fun while we are learning or demonstrating how we use our post-processing software, imaginations and interpretations.

It is supposed to be -27˚C now in Canada where I used to live vs today's high of +27˚C here in Uruguay. This is my wife and kids out for a walk on Lake Temiskaming a few years back (ice was about 1m thick, it was only about -15˚C at the time), so please be kind in your treatment of this photo:).

Punta, this is a great image for our purposes. FYI, when I completed my first version, I noticed several small circles in the sky. Was it snowing when you shot the photo? If so, that would explain them.

Haha...I'm just now reading the first Mars (Barsoom) novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, A Princess of Mars (1917) (A novel of the compiled serialization of stories written in 1912).

Earthman John Carter has met a lot of strange people and beasts, but so far no Corgis. Of course, I'm only about half-way finished! I'm on the lookout for a Corgi now!

There is a "Calot: A large dog-like creature with a frog-like mouth and three rows of teeth and ten legs. John Carter has his own calot, named Woola, who is his faithful companion." (Wikipedia) Maybe the Corgi evolves from this? I've never read any of Burroughs' books before (he of Tarzan fame), but I'm finding this one well worth the time to read.

Yes, I read them and thoroughly enjoyed them. The Disney movie 'John Carter of Mars' was...meh, and was a box office flop, but that wasn't Rice-Burroghs fault. It is still worth watching after you complete reading the set.
