I use a tripod (and a cable release) almost exclusively with the 500CM. Sometimes I will shoot hand held- but mostly not.

I figure pushing a shutter button is a lot like squeezing a trigger:

decelerate heartbeat

breathe slowly, purposefully

make certain of your aim

focus on your target

squeeze off a shot between breaths

Whether a gun or a camera, I find that I'm most accurate/have the least motion blur when I'm exhaling. I tend to shake more when not breathing, even for a second. Instead, it's just take a deep breath, then slowly exhale.

BTW, on your Hasselblad, are you using mirror pre-fire? Tripod or not, I find that the the mirror can cause more blur especially in roughly the 1/30 to 1/2 second or so range than anything else.

I do occasionally use the pre fire function, but it's a wee bit off putting that the viewfinder is also blacked out. I mostly use it in either long/wide shots or long exposures.

Shot a couple rolls of Pan F Plus at ISO 50 a couple weeks back, in my 35mm Voigtlander R3m rangefinder camera. Much of the roll came out either underexposed or just dark looking. But, with a bit of post work, I ended up with quite a few keepers, maybe 19 or so out of 36 exposures.

Caution, this file is probably like 15mb or so. I uploaded only edits into Zenfolio so far.
