Wedding Nightmare

Not to get down on you, but there are a couple of things here.

 

1 - Depending on how I feel, what I am thinking, or who is saying it, my brain may not recognize/get a very obvious joke. And it goes over my head.

Think of how Commander Data on StarTrek would react.

 

2 - For those of us in similar professions, that joke isn't funny. Even if we know it is a joke, we do not think it is funny. And I may guess that Charles might be in or was in one of those professions.

On the first point.

I assumed we have no androids posting, ( surely everyone uses an IPad Now)

On the second point.

My dentist told me that joke.

A neurologist told me his variation of the same joke as well.

Both licensed practicing professionals with a sense of humor.

Told that dentist his latex gloves were kinda thin and “I think I can bite right through them.”

“That’s OK son, they’re used anyway....”

Some of us old foggies are pretty dense and slow getting a joke.

My nephews gave up telling me jokes, cuz sometimes it takes me so long to "get it," that they got frustrated.

I got the best compliment I’ve ever had the other day. A couple of young guys were discussing working with me, “the Old Man”.

“He may be 35 years older than us but he makes me laugh my ass off.”

Now that point has been is cleared up - there's little point in arguing about it.
